Kangaroo Paw Fern

Kangaroo Paw Fern

  • Description

Kangaroo paw ferns, native to Australia and some parts of New Zealand, are epiphytic evergreens with firm leathery fronds that are uniquely shaped and vary in size. Kangaroo paw ferns have a variety of leaf forms but their length contributes to the common name. Kangaroo fern is a very adaptable plant; it is equally at ease in the home or the office.

  • Care Information

Indoors, provide your plant with medium to bright indirect light; keep in the shade outside. High humidity is best, but a kangaroo paw fern will still perform well in lower household humidity. Water your fern when the top half of the soil has dried out. When watering, give the plant enough water so that it starts to drain out the drainage holes. In winter, watering should be reduced to half. Hardiness zones range from 9-11.
