  • Description

The common fig is a species of flowering plants in the genus Ficus. The leaves of the fig tree are quite lovely — large, beautifully shaped, and generous in their provision of shade. The taste of figs is all honey-like sweetness with a subtle hint of berry.

  • Care Information

Fig trees prefer 7-8 hours of full sun during the growing season. These plants require well-drained soil with lots of organic matter. In areas with dry climates, water fig trees deeply at least once a week. Once established, figs can be very drought-tolerant.
